A massive “thank-you!” to all of our volunteers! The last couple of months has been a period of intense work, with a multitude of jobs to undertake including tending to the soft landscape of the Park, organising events such as the May Fayre and WW1 Commemoration Day, as well as receiving deliveries of anything from toilets and containers to deliveries for the Wildlife Garden!
We are very proud of our ever-growing bank of volunteers who love giving their time to help fulfill the Friends’ Aims. Many new friendships have been made through volunteers meeting and working with other volunteers, which is a good indication that the “Friends” of Ellington Park is remaining true to its name!
Below are just a few pics of some of the activities our volunteers have been up to recently. If you would like to sign up, do contact our volunteering co-ordinator, Di, on 01843 279275 or get in touch via email, firstname.lastname@example.org. We look forward to hearing from you!
We can announce that the Friends of Ellington Park now has an Official Media Partner in Academy FM Thanet! From now on, our campaigns and events publicity will include the Academy FM logo – a move which cements the Friends of Ellington Park’s reputation as one of the biggest and best community groups in the area, while also reminding local people to tune in and support Thanet’s leading local radio station.
Our Chairperson, Beverley, said: “We are absolutely delighted to become united with Academy FM in this Official Media Partnership, which I am certain will be long-lasting and mutually beneficial”.
You can listen to Academy locally on 107.8 FM or online via the station’s website: www.academyfmthanet.com. Those of you who listen frequently will know that the Friends join Howard [Evans] on his Drivetime show (3-6pm) on a regular basis. Our next drop-in to the studio will be on Monday, 7 July at around 4pm.
The Friends of Ellington Park is a committee made up of a group of local residents and park users committed to improving the facilities and environment of Ellington Park in Ramsgate, Kent.
