Your St Lawrence! “Between the Saint and the Sea” heritage exhibition opening on the 3rd of September until 17th September daily [closed on Mondays].
To coincide with Heritage Week, the Friends of Ellington Park have curated an exhibition and living history experience from 3rd to 17th September inclusive, in St Lawrence Parish Hall.
The Heritage Lottery Fund and Ramsgate Town Council are funding this unique event which aims to give residents and visitors alike, an extraordinary insight into the social and architectural heritage of the original parish of St Lawrence.
Come and look at the display of original artefacts, photographs and memorabilia which will be curated on a time-line through the ages. Contributors and exhibitors will include: St Lawrence Church, Friends of Ellington Park, the Archaeological Society, the Ramsgate Society, as well as local schools and other community groups.
Take part in the afternoon, one-hour guided tours each day starting at 3pm to learn more about this fascinating Parish: encompassing the Church and Churchyard, Ellington Park, and much more.
Come and listen to some of the fascinating and stimulating evening talks [7pm] by local historians and wildlife experts: among these, Ralph Hoult’s photographic history, the Town Sergeant on the Ramsgate Town’s insignia, the Bat Society of Kent, and many more.
Refreshments and small sales items available in hall.
